In every thriving Honey Bee colony there is a social structure that consists of the Queen Bee, the Worker bees, and the Drones. The Drones are the male bees that protect the hive from danger. The Queen Bee is the leader of the hive that unites the colony and secures the future of the hive by producing offspring. The worker bees are female bees whose mission is to support the Queen Bee, build the beehive and honeycomb while raising the future generations of the colony. That’s pretty crazy right? Just a little bee is capable of contributing to something so much larger than itself! We wanted to use the social structure of bees and translate it to our business model and mission. Simply, create a business that supports other women, unites the community, and guides future generations of female entrepreneurs. Why Humble Bee? Our goal as Christians is to serve God humbly and reverently, as well as “with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love” Ephesians 4:2. Like the Honey Bee, our business will humbly serve our leader, God, while working alongside other female entrepreneurs to build a better future for the women in the community. When you shop at The Humble Bee & Co, you are helping to build and support local, woman-owned businesses in Kentucky and across the USA. A percentage of every sale is donated to a non-profit organization that positively impacts the lives of women by working with rescued victims of human-trafficking to build a new future for themselves. We are more than a boutique that exists, we make a difference.
